We are pleased, No, ECSTATIC to be able to share our first project with the world. “Real Adult” is a dramedy that follows six friends in Philadelphia who have just graduated college: Chloe, Rachel, Gab, Matt, Nick, and Robby. They’ve managed to fool themselves into thinking that they know what adulthood is until they realize how not prepared for “adult life” they really are. The group of friends experiences different struggles: their fifth consecutive existential crisis, paying rent with no money, or losing someone they thought they’d always have. Throughout our five episodes, the friends will unravel themselves and the world around them as they struggle to make sense of life now that it’s time to figure it out.
Each character is diverse in race and sexuality, and I’m hoping to achieve a broad spectrum of representation while telling stories that are relatable to any person in their early twenties, especially the LGBTQIA community. “Real Adult” presents an important reality: adults with adult responsibilities who don’t feel like adults at all.
